Yahoo plans to let other businesses like Netflix run applications on its Web pages.
The Web portal will permit widgets from Netflix, for example, that allow Yahoo users to see and tinker with their queue of movies from that company without leaving the Yahoo page they’re on.
The changes mimic and mirror the evolution of popular socializing Web sites such as Facebook and MySpace. These are the first major changes in Yahoo’s pages in more than two years.
