GameZnFlix, Inc. an online provider of video games and movies for rent or purchase, announces today that they will continue to carry HD-DVDs.

This decision comes on the heels of Netflix’s announcement that they no longer carry HD-DVDs by the end of this year. The decision of GameZnFlix to continue to carry HD-DVDs is based on the large number of subscribers who have purchased HD-DVD players that interface with their Microsoft Xbox 360 or own Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite.

“We want to continue to be the gamers’ choice for both movies and games,” said John Fleming, CEO of GameZnFlix. “And for us to do that we will provide for both our Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 members, who enjoy enhanced DVD experiences.”

Game rental service GameFly renewed its offer for a free 15-day trial for new customers plus a free Papa John’s $10 Gift Card via coupon code “1PJHP5“. That’s the best deal we’ve ever seen from Gamefly, which normally has a 10-day free trial and no gift card.

After the trial, keep two games out for $22.95 per month. You can also keep one game out for $15.95 per month, but the free trial is void with this option.

Last month, the United States Post Office raised the price of a stamp by $0.02 to $0.41 a pop. That spike was even worse for the “flat package” rate charged to GameFly, the Netflix-like service which rents games to customers via the mail. The rate increase, combined with the cost of next-generation games, has caused the company to raise all monthly subscriptions will by $1 as of June 18.

Remember when iPods brought new life to online scams with their “Annoy 5 friends to do this and this and this” deals? Losing twenty friends is the best free deal money can’t buy. Well Gamefly is running a similar deal.

Gamefly was giving away a Wii or a free year of to anyone who got five people to sign up. Instead of actually trying to find people interested in the service, I just gave five of my friends ten bucks and told them to sign up for the cheapest option. Gamefly didn’t know the difference and I had my five people signed up in three days. I printed off the Gamefly redemption form and sent it in and soon after all of my friends quit Gamefly. I didn’t know if it would work, Gamefly didn’t even want money for shipping and handling, but six weeks later and for only $50 I had my Wii.
